Give it time and you can grow your own pot of gold with Lantana ‘Bandana Trailing Gold.’ This superb plant produces sturdy vines up to 40 inches long at maturity. This often-overlooked member of the verbena family can be used in pots or hanging baskets, but it will also thrive in a garden bed where it can sprawl at will, producing masses of flower clusters in that glowing golden color that warms your soul. Check out this journal of its progress in a bed over the summer in a Cornell University trial if you want to see its potential unfold.
