Reach for the Starsister

Dahlia 'Starsister Red and White'

The name is a little odd, but we generally don’t puchase a bloom because of its name. We are shallow enough to be taken in just by a pretty face, and the dahlia ‘Starsister Red and White’ has that in spades. The Starsister series comes in a variety of colors, but it’s the unexpected punch packed in ‘Red and White’ that make it such a stunner. The plant should reach about a foot tall, with a slightly bigger spread, over the summer. This dwarf dahlia can be grown from seed, but the tuberous root it forms can be dug up and stored for the winter. Which makes it an even bigger star in our view.
