Cucumber ‘Richmond Green Apple’ looks a lot like Lemon cucumber and less like an apple. And if that isn’t confusing enough, it tastes completely like a cucumber. This Australian heirloom can be somewhat hard to find, but when you do, get the seeds and grow them. Like Lemon cucumber, Richmond matures a bit later than most cukes, but the wait is worth it as the plants are quite prolific late in the season when the earlier varieties have petered out. The plants are not as big as most, making them a better bet for smaller garden spaces, and easily trellis for quick picking.
