Capsicum annuum ‘Chilly Chili’ puts on a fiery show visually but produces non-pungent fruit, winning it a “child-friendly” description. It also is such a performer that it won the 2002 All-America Selections award. The pepper grows about a foot tall, forming a mound that is peppered with upright fruit that starts green, turns yellow, then all red. It grows well in containers and mixed plantings, which makes it an exceptional ornamental.
