Gardening Seminars in Turner on April 26, 2014

April 26, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Mark your calendars for Turner Public Library’s Gardening Seminars on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The seminars will take place in the Community Room at the Leavitt Institute Building and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Keynote speakers will be Bonnie Brown and John Zocchi. Bonnie is the owner and operator of Shaky Barn Farms on the Boothby Road in Livermore. Gathering from personal experience cultivating cut flower gardens and as a Master Gardener Volunteer, Bonnie will share her natural, down-to-earth methods for extended garden glory. John’s presentation will focus on growing warm-climate vegetables in a cool climate, specifically demonstrating that melons and other warm climate vegetables can be raised by the backyard gardener in Turner. John’s architectural career is evidenced at his property on Torrey Hill in North Turner.

A round-table discussion will follow as a lively and informative part of the seminars. There will be free coffee and doughnuts with lunch available for purchase. Come share the excitement – at last! – of spring and gardening.

There is no charge for this program, although donations are gladly accepted. For more information, see the website at http://turnerpubliclibrary.org/2014_spring_seminars.htm or call TPL at 225-2030 Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.
