Container gardening makes a lot of sense if your time and space are limited. Potted plants add beauty and interest in places where a garden can’t be planted (patios, porches, poor soil) and can change the entire look of a landscape and provide for easy seasonal adaptations. Individual plants take on an entirely new look when planted in combination with plants of contrasting colors and textures. Liz Stanley, who administers the Master Gardener Volunteer program for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Knox, Waldo and Lincoln Counties, will share her vast knowledge of how to make the most of container gardens.

The discussion will be held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church Parish House, 95 Court St., Belfast.
